“I would advise anyone who aspires to a writing career that before developing his talent he would be wise to develop a thick hide.”
Harper Lee

With each of the 27 drafts (so far) of the screenplay adaptation of the book, I am reminded of the words of the author of, To Kill a Mockingbird.
I am grateful to all of the people in the film and screenwriting community who have been generous with their time, advice and notes. With each revision, this story moves a step closer to jumping off the page and on to a screen.
THIS. Discovering You Again in mid-life. So my ‘discovering you again’ work is all geared towards women, but honestly Ray, you’re my thesis. So important to get good/work hard/stay in it to support the fam/self/our world. And then, when they’ve launched and when you’re either ‘tired’ or ‘ready,’ SO important to Discover You Again…who and how do I want to be in my second half? Did you ever imagine that you’d be an author and screenwriter? Maybe you did in your dreams? Or is this a total surprise? Love to hear about that little piece of background. Ray, you’re the best and sincerely always wishing you the very best continued success. Susan Axelrod
If you had asked me ten years ago if I’d be doing most of what I’m doing now, I would have said you’re crazy. Keep at it Susan! Here’s to a 2019 filled with adventure and success.
Congratulations, Ray! Having converted my “Piping Rock” to a screenplay, I know what you’ve been through and so admire what you’re pushing for. Best of luck!
Joe
Thank you, Joe. The Burning of the Piping Rock would make a great film.
